Q: Can you come to my rehearsal dinner, bridal luncheon/shower, etc.?
We are available to shoot all aspects of any event and are limited only by how much coverage time is included in your package. You may, for example, want to use an hour of your package to cover the bride getting ready. Additional hours of coverage can always be added to any package. The choice of how you use your time is totally up to you!
How long is a finished wedding video?
Generally the edited video has a running time of about 60-90 minutes. Of course the kind of video you want plays a big part in this decision. We like to keep it at this length to facilitate a tightly produced video that is enjoyable to watch.
I’m concerned about problems between photographers and videographers, how do you handle that?
I introduce myself and discuss how we may best work together. The most important thing is that your event is covered in a pleasant and competent manner. We have received great feedback on the techniques we employ to get the job done without getting in the way.
What’s a Video Love Story?
The Video Love Story is a photo montage (which can be enhanced by an interview of the couple) set to the music of your choice. The video chronicles the simultaneous life histories of the couple and culminates with photos documenting the course their relationship together! We can also create a Honeymoon montage by using photos taken during the honeymoon.
How long does it take to get my video?
Usually we can have the completed DVD or Video to you by two months after the event date, even during peak season. Of course it is often shorter, but it does depend on the complexity of the shoot and the desired finished product.
Do you attend the wedding rehearsal, and does it cost extra?
We always attend the wedding rehearsal as part of the time included in the package. How can someone shoot an event without seeing the site and listening/watching a breakdown of the ceremony? We don’t really understand not wanting to be properly prepared!
What kind of equipment do you use for shooting?
Two matching High Definition Digital Video Cameras: either the Panasonic HVX-200 or the Sony Z1u depending on the shoot; Sony UHF dual diversity wireless microphone for the ceremony audio (placed on the groom); One ME 66 Sennheiser on camera microphone with a K6 powering module; One VL-10i camera light for super low-light situations. I try to use as little secondary light as possible to avoid being obtrusive. I enjoy using the latest technology to get the best image while still maintaining my mobility in live event situations.
What type of editing system do you use?
We exclusively employ Mac systems for all digital non-linear editing. We use Macintosh computers with Apple Final Cut HD Studio 2 editing software and DVD Studio Pro for DVD authoring.
I want to include some music in my video, how does that work?
The couple can decide together on a few songs that they provide for the soundtrack of the video. We use these for transitions and to set the mood at the beginning and end of the video (also for DVD menus.) I think music can be very powerful if employed sparingly for effect. If you can’t decide on exact songs, we can suggest some or you can give us a general genre to work with like classical, jazz, etc.
How about special effects in your videos?
Again it depends on the client, but as a rule I like to keep everything very simple, clean and tastefully edited. We use smooth transitions to enhance, not upstage the action.
